In Fall 2007, Theron started in a toddler playgroup that was part of the support services and therapeutic interventions provided by Oregon's Early Intervention program. He was just two, and had already had a Summer of speech and physical therapy to work on his speech dyspraxia and the recovery from his tethered spinal cord surgery.
In Fall 2008, he happily entered Oregon EI's Sunshine Kids Preschool.
Even riding the school bus! At three!
Fall 2009, eh, not so happily.
Tomorrow is Theron's last day at Sunshine Kids. Three years of his life already neatly tucked under his belt. This Fall he transitions to a pre-K designed for kids on the autism spectrum, to help facilitate their eventual transition into the mainstream schools.
Hug a teacher. They are miracle workers.
